{Part 1} A little trip with a lot of pictures...

We got up at 4AM Saturday morning and got ready for our 8AM flight out of Birmingham. We got the car loaded and in reverse when we got the phone call saying our flight had been cancelled.  When I finally got in touch with the airline a little man who was barely understandable told me that they had already rescheduled us for the same flight on January 1...um, thanks but no thanks. We have a wedding to be at TOMORROW, I explained to him over and over to no avail. Over an hour and a less than friendly conversation with my mama later we were booked on a flight out of Atlanta.

On the PreFlight Parking bus headed to the airport...
We checked our bag (and Luke's carseat after the lady talked
us into it) and got through security when I got an email saying
we had a gate change and our flight would be delayed an hour.
After two more delays our 10:00 flight finally left at 2:00. :/
After our rough morning of hurry up and wait I knew that the kids would either sleep or be cranky on the flight. It really could've gone either way. Much to my dismay, though, Luke didn't sit in his full price seat for very long. After screaming "Mommy, don't tie me down!" across the plane as I was buckling his seatbelt, he began chanting "Hold me, Mommy, hold me!" After about three seconds of standing my ground I unbuckled him and put him in my lap where we wrestled and he kicked the seat in front of me almost the entire flight. During the five seconds he was actually coloring and content, he was apparently talking too loud because the lady he had been kicking (who didn't seem to mind that) turned around and very rudely said "He is too loud!" Really, lady? You didn't mind the kicking, but his TALKING is too loud?!
E slept.
Six hours after our intended arrival
time we finally made it to Houston...

The Last of the Presents

We went to Nana's today to spend some time with Grandma
Lorraine, Grandpa Gene, Uncle Bill, Aunt Patricia, Uncle David,
and Aunt Leslae. Uncle David and Aunt Leslae brought some fun
surprises along, and the kids loved tearing into more presents!

Tonight we had supper at Uncle Brent, Aunt Jana, and Blair's.

Restless Nights

Since Luke has been having this on again/off again issue with going to sleep, he has decided he should "Seep with Sissy?" The only problem is that the only one who sleeps is her...until he wiggles, squirms, and pokes long enough to wake her up too. I pray that they always love and take care of each other the way they do now...melt. my. heart.!

'Twas the Day After Christmas

And all through the town,
Little boys were coughing,
And wheezing all around.
The Verdict: Ear Infection and Congested Lungs
The Sentence: Breathing Treatments Around the Clock
In the grand scheme of things it's not so bad, though,
because I know there are so many babies out there who
are so much worse off than mine. And, really, I'm too blessed
to be stressed. Just look at what I come home to every day. :)

iCrazy

Apparently Santa went iCrazy this year. E got an iPod and her cousin Ella Kate in GA got an iPad. They wanted to FaceTime each other, but we couldn't figure out how to do it with no phone numbers. EK ended up calling my iPhone from her iPad and they chatted for a while. We've since figured out the whole email address thing, so I'm sure they will be seeing each other soon. :)

Christmas Day 2012

After seeing what the big guy brought and eating breakfast comes my favorite part of Christmas Day...church! What better way to celebrate the birth of Christ?! The year Luke was born Christmas was on a Saturday, so they decided to omit the Christmas Day service and I hope that never happens again!
The service is simple. Kids come in their pajamas and bring something special that they received. Adults come casual. We sing a few hymns celebrating the birth of our Saviour, sing Happy Birthday to Jesus, and then John reads the true story of Christmas found in Luke 2. It is short, sweet, and powerful.

All 3:)
After church we always go to Nana and Papa's for lunch and
possibly a present or two. But before we could head that way we
had to get some jumping time in. The kids (and I:) had a blast!
This year Nana got to open her prize first...a charm bracelet with
picture charms of the kids. We're pretty sure she liked it okay;)!
Then the kids got to tear into some things! E's big
surprise was wrapped in about five different boxes...
A beautiful necklace in the shape of a crescent
moon that says "I love you to the moon and back."
She also got a gorgeous charm bracelet from Maz.
Luke got a Thomas desk and a plethora of
other things, but he's too busy for many pics. :)
We spent the evening napping, playing with all our new loot,
and eating leftovers at MawMaw's. It was a wonderful Christmas!
