It's Gameday Y'all!!! {And Happy Birthday MawMaw}

We kicked off the weekend by heading to Montgomery to watch
the Vols play last night. They won 16-14 in a close season opener!
Today officially kicks off my favorite time of year...
college football season! We've got rotel on the stove,
hot wings ready to eat, and crimson and white on the TV!
Roll...
Tide...
Y'all!
{And Happy Birthday MawMaw "Wanna"!!}

Another One Down

On Monday afternoon E was so excited because she had "really big homework". She came into my room, sat right down, and got to work writing her name as neatly as possible in her tablet. My hope is that she is always this enthused about homework. ;)
When we got home I opened up the dishwasher to
empty it and found this inside (sorry, ladies, he's taken;).
This pretty much sums up our afternoons. And let me just
go on record as saying that kindergarteners need naps.
Mallie and Emma dressed Luke up on Thursday afternoon...
you gotta love a football player who wears heels, ha! :)
We are all excited about a long weekend
full of sleeping late, rotel, and football!!!

We Made It! {1 week down}

We survived the first week of school, and it really was a great week! E fell asleep every day on the way home. Kindergarten is tiring for a girl who still takes naps!

During the first two weeks of K, the
kids review colors. Tuesday was red...
After school nap...
Wednesday was yellow...
Thursday was green...
Friday was blue (but not really;)...
One of the many reasons I LOVE my job...
"You are a good teacher. I will do as you say."
Luke couldn't be left out of all the back to school fun, so he
has been sitting at his desk doing "homework" every night. :)
We slept in yesterday (E slept until 9:15...for probably the first time
in her life...and when she woke up she announced, "Now that was
pretty awesome!"), hung out at home the majority of the day, went
to a birthday party at the park, and then went to Nana's for a
sleepover. It was a great, low-key day after an eventful week!

First Day of Kindergarten

Today I gave the world a little piece of me.

I gave birth to this most precious miracle nearly six years ago. On that day I never could have imagined the amount of joy that beautiful baby girl would bring me.

Since the day she was born I have tried to teach her love, compassion, and independence, among other things.

She is all I ever dreamed and hoped for in a daughter and so much more, and I know she will continue to make me proud as she grows.

I pray that the world knows what a gem they are getting in her.

And I pray that she does mighty things in this world.

Things that will make her Maker say, "Well done, my good and faithful servant."

She got up this morning, got herself dressed, came into the
room where I was ironing my skirt, and before I could turn
around I heard her little voice say, "Mommy, don't cry."
Nana and Papa came by to get Luke so
Justin and I both could take E to school!
And a sweet friend graciously volunteered to watch
my kiddos so that I could be mama for a few minutes!
The Gingerbread Man
I snuck up to the K building while my kids were at P.E. (a perk
of teaching at the same school your kids attend) to snap this pic
that I have a feeling will end up in a yearbook in about 12 years;).
And the best news of all is that WE survived! ;)
I found this in her folder...
And it may or may not have brought a tear to my eye:).

We finally left school around 5PM, and we didn't even make
it to Mapco before I noticed this in my rearview mirror...
She was sound asleep again by 8PM,
excited about another day in Kindergarten!

Fire

We went to eat at Fuji tonight, and y'all, the boy sat as still as he' has since before he was mobile. I'm thinking I should get an open fire grill at home? ;)

Open House

Today was Open House.

For the last seven years I've been strictly on the teacher end.

Tonight I added the mama role.

And let me just say it again.

I can't believe my baby is starting Kindergarten on Monday.

Monday.

That's just a weekend away.

Moving along to the pics...

1st Grade:)
My girl and me:)
Off to Kindergarten!
Mrs. Griffin and Emma
Mrs. Griffin asked the kids to make
a picture telling about themselves...
Prayers for the mama in me on Monday, please:).

Lake Wedowee

We spent the afternoon at the Yates' enjoying the company of our Sunday School class. These girls had a blast playing, and I know at least one of them who came home exhausted. I can't believe summer is officially over for me! It has definitely flown by...back to the grind in the morning!!
