The 7-Year Itch {Happy Anniversary!}

In our day and age people are constantly using social media to tell their stories. Some post Facebook statuses, some blog, some  "tweet" (I guess that's proper terminology?). The bottom line is they tell you what they want you to know. My blog is like that to an extent. It's my family's scrapbook, and quite frankly there are some things I don't care to remember years down the road, so I don't write about them. But on the flip side of that it seems as though we are constantly being bombarded with people's fairy tale stories. And y'all. Since I'm being totally honest, I just don't live a fairy tale life.

My husband is about as romantic as a slug. He leaves his socks laying in the floor in front of the couch, his hats cover my kitchen table, and I'm constantly threatening to throw them all away. His idea of cooking supper is going to his mother's. He doesn't clean, he's not a handy man, I have to beg him to change a diaper, and if he does do any of the above I wish he hadn't because he doesn't let me forget about it (remember that time when...?). His famous words are "I give an inch and you take a mile." He says that when he does do something "nice" (like give the kids a bath, ha!) then I suddenly expect him to do it everyday.

At this point I'm sure you're wondering why in the world I married such a man. Y'all. He frustrates me to no end. And I wouldn't give two red cents for another one just like him...but I wouldn't take a million dollars for the one I've got either.

I loved him once. Love him still. Always have. Always will.

Happy Anniversary Justin Wade McCollum. I'm looking forward to 60+ more years of dirty socks and stinkin' hats with my favorite guy who isn't still in diapers;).

{Part 4} A little trip with a lot of pictures...

This morning we woke up (on our 7th Wedding
Anniversary:) and headed back to the airport
in hopes of a much better day of traveling.
This time I was sure not to let a soul talk
me out of taking the carseat on board. :)
Flight left on time, kids were angels, and we even arrived
in Atlanta earlier than expected. We are headed to Robbie and
Meaghan's to ring in the New Year. Happy New Year's Eve!!

{Part 3} A little trip with a lot of pictures...

The Reception
Luke and this sweet girl share the same
birthday...and they kept us running all night long!
It baffles us all, but Luke adores his Uncle Josh;).

This girl kept the dance floor hot all night...
And then she slept the night away...

{Part 2} A little trip with a lot of pictures...

After a horrendous day of flying (or waiting) we
finally made it to Houston, and more specifically,
Uncle Bruce's house where the kids took right over.
We met Josh and Moms at our favorite restaurant
in Houston, Pappadeaux, and it did not disappoint!
On our way back to the hotel Luke put
his socks on his hands and fell fast asleep.
After a decent night's rest we headed back to Uncle
Bruce's for Kolaches (the best breakfast in Texas:).
Then back to the room to get ready to go to the wedding...
(Hanging out in brother's bed:)
When we got there Aunt Carrie gave E a robe like the big girls',
and she loved it...that and getting her hair and makeup done. ;)
My little princess:)
Since John and Carrie were taking the majority of
their pictures before the wedding they did a first
look, and I snapped a few pictures with my iPhone.
 Picture time...

The five of us...youngest to oldest.
Pre-Wedding
It was about this time when I wished I had taken
Justin up on his offer of staying home with Luke;).
The girls passed out programs.

The Wedding
Thankfully Daddy stood in the back with Luke:).
