Just Another Busy Saturday:)

After spending the morning decorating for a baby shower at church, we headed to the skating rink for the second time this month -- this time for a birthday party.
After the party we ran a few errands, and E ended up with
new hot pink headphones for her iPod, courtesy of Nana.
We finally made it to the BJCC just in time for the circus!!
We brought E to the circus last year, but this was Luke's first trip. I was worried for two reasons: (1) he's wild as all get out, and (2) it didn't start until 7PM, which is about 15 minutes PAST his bedtime. However, it couldn't have worked out better. He was mesmerized by it all and was very mellow. He only got agitated when the "e-phants" were out of sight for more than a few minutes:).
Luke's favorite part, hands down...
E's favorite part ("the people in the air")...
Of course, a circus isn't a circus without $12 cotton candy...
He made it through the entire circus, but
crashed as soon as we exited the building...
And once again, the greatest show on earth proved to be just that:).

Two Peas in a Pod

Daddy picked this guy up from daycare on his way
home from school today. I'm starting to think he likes
his daddy more than he lets on when I'm around;).

Too many monkeys in the bed...

Luke has been rather attached since we got back home from North Carolina. He woke up crying around midnight and I was all set to let him cry it out. But after he woke up his sister (and since his daddy hadn't made it to bed yet) I decided my rest was more important. Justin was not so pleasantly surprised to find this when he finally made it to his spot in the bed around 4AM...

This is what they looked like by 5:15AM. And the real loser in this story is me (and possibly Emma). Justin got a good night's rest in her bed, while Luke pretty much slept on top of E (see Exhibit A above) or underneath me (see Exhibit B below) all night long.
I think tonight we might have to go back to crying it out;).

Reading?!?!

My sweet baby girl brought home her first homework today. And she was so excited that she had to jump in the front seat and read her book to me before we could even leave the parking lot. All I can say is don't blink (as tears roll down my cheeks;)...

Boone, NC

Every year the church goes on a ski retreat in Boone, NC. Last year the four of us went, but after much agony I decided we would leave Luke behind this year. On Saturday morning at 3AM we got up and ready for a 4AM departure. The girl isn't crazy about mornings (and I have no idea where she gets that from;).
After a surprisingly easy ride to Boone we made it to our hotel just
in time to unload and get downstairs for our first worship service.
After Mark's sermon on compromise, we headed to the slopes.
3AM wake up + no nap = CRASHED
Our Sunday morning wake up call came too early...
...but we had snow tubing to get to! :)
Hanging out in the van waiting on
the bus to get back to pick us up...
And then these sweet girls went back to the room
with us for the afternoon while the skiers skied:).
We had our final worship service,
ate our traditional meal at Golden Coral,
and stayed up most of the night playing cards (and iPads:)!
Monday morning came early...
...and after a long, HOT ride home I was SO ready to see this face!
