Happy Anniversary!

Five years ago today I married my best friend. I never could have imagined we would be here today with two beautiful children. I can't wait to see what the next five years bring. Happy Anniversary to the best daddy (and pretty sweet husband;)! Here are a few pictures from that fairy-tale day!

Luke: 3 Months

Luke, you are 3 months old!

You are still chewing/sucking on those hands.
You have also started drooling a lot...I'm still
wondering if you'll be getting a tooth soon?!?
You are a mover! You take in everything around you,
and you're almost always happy...even with the flu!
Speaking of the flu...you have now been sick for the
first time, and Mommy doesn't like it one little bit! :(
You are still sleeping through the night! I usually give you
a bedtime bottle around 9PM lay you down around 9:30PM.
You have started sleeping until 7 or 7:30AM!! You recently
started sleeping in your own room, although you and I have
been sleeping in the living room since you have been sick.
You love your hands, and you have started grasping onto things
like your blankets, your paci, and Mommy's shirts/necklaces/etc.
You are the sweetest thing, and I could just eat you up! You are growing so fast, eating 6oz. every 4 hours during the day. Since we were at Dr. Ray's office today I had them weigh and measure you. You are 15lbs. 6oz. and 25 inches long...up 8lbs. and 5 inches from birth. You will be going to Mrs. Elizabeth's for the first time next week. I know she will take excellent care of you, but I am very sad to see our time together come to an end. I am counting down the days until our next "mini-break" in a few weeks! You are such a blessing, and I am so proud to be your Mommy!

Airplane! (and sick)

On Sunday Luke and I packed up to head back to Texas for Aunt Paulette's funeral. This time we flew, and we left Daddy and Emma behind. Our flight was supposed to leave at 5:40PM. We met my Uncle John at the airport, because he was going to fly with us. At 5:50PM we heard the words "airport closed" come over the gate agent's walkie talkie. Our flight had been cancelled! I started to stress, because I was two hours from home without a carseat and only three bottles. I called Justin and he told me the roads were too icy for him to get back to Atlanta. John stayed calm and said we would just go back to his house for the night and catch the first flight in the morning. As we were leaving the gate we quickly realized that other flights were taking off, so it must have just been our flight...and in actuality the entire airport wasn't closed! So, we headed to the Continental counter to tell them our situation and see if they could put us on another flight. They were very nice, and got us booked on the 8:30PM Delta flight...but we had to go to the Delta counter to get boarding passes and then go back through security! What a nightmare!! We finally got to Houston around midnight.

Luke was so good on the flight! Uncle John held him before
we took off so that I could eat...we hadn't eaten since that
morning! Then he slept in my arms the entire flight!
After the funeral on Tuesday we went back to Aunt Paulette's
house, where Luke came down with a fever. I stripped him down
to a diaper, gave him Tylenol, and patted him down with a
lukewarm rag. Finally, the fever broke and he got a little rest.
Daddy sent this pic of Emma Girl to let us know they were alright!
Luke didn't run a fever again, but he acquired a cough and began sneezing. We were scheduled to fly home on Wednesday afternoon...and we were ready. Having a sick baby is no fun...especially when you're not at home! We got to the airport and heard those awful words...airport closed...yet again! John and I decided we were bad luck and shouldn't fly together again! It was thundering, lightning, and pouring down rain, and our flight had been delayed...which is a step up from cancelled! Here is Luke resting while we waited to find out if we would be able to fly home that night or not. Needless to say I was stressed!
Here is Luke Man sitting in Maz's lap...ready to take off! Again,
he was a perfect angel on the flight...sleeping the whole time!
We finally got home to Alabama around 11PM. Luke only got worse through the night, and we didn't get any sleep. On Thursday morning we got up and headed to Dr. Ray's office. It didn't take him long to let us know that our sweet little guy had the flu. He also asked if I had been sick, and when I told him I had stayed in bed all day Christmas and still wasn't feeling great he said he thought I was probably getting over the flu. He went ahead and prescribed Tamiflu for Justin and Emma, but there isn't much you can do for somebody as young as Luke. He gave him a cough medicine, and prescribed a lot of TLC. I think I can handle that! Have I mentioned that I HATE it when my babies are sick?

White Christmas 2010

On Christmas morning Emma ran into our bedroom yelling, "Mommy, Daddy...there's a gator in our living room!" She was so excited! We jumped out of bed, and I grabbed my camera to get these images!

One of my favorite things about Christmas...
...is the magic in her eyes!
This is what she was smiling about!
A baby bottle!
The one thing she asked Santa for...a John Deere Gator!
Dress Up Clothes!
A Baby Doll & Stroller!
Look Mommy, he drank the milk!
Luke Man racked up too!
He got a bean bag chair, books,
boots, CDs, and a carseat toy!
He got this playmat too!
When we realized the snow had started I bundled him up to
get a few pictures. Luke's first Christmas was white...and it was
the first white Christmas Alabama had seen in over 100 years! :)
E was riding in the snow!
Driving back to get Luke!
My sweet babies!
Daddy & Luke
We came back in so Emma could open
up everything in their stockings! Nana, Papa,
MawMaw & Poppa Dale were there to watch.
All this receiving wore him out! :)
Everybody left and Daddy painted Emma's fingers and toes with
her new polish. Isn't this the sweetest thing you've ever seen?
I wasn't feeling well, so I stayed in bed most of the
afternoon. When I woke up this is what I found...
What a beautiful, white Christmas!
Happy Birthday Jesus!!

Christmas Eve 2010

Traditionally Emma and I spend Christmas Eve Day at my Mama's baking and getting ready for Santa. This year was a little different since we had just driven in from Texas. We got home around 8AM, and Luke went to MawMaw's so that we could get some rest. Emma and I had been sick, so I spent the morning trying to find a doctor's office open...no luck. However, we are blessed with a wonderful Aunt Jana who came to our rescue. She got us fixed up, and when Justin woke up he took Emma to his parents' house to take a nap and let me rest. That evening we all went to his parents' house to celebrate Christmas.

MawMaw bought the kids a seesaw...it was a hit!
MawMaw showing Luke the Rudolph toy!
E got her very own jewelry box!
...and Poppa Dale got these overalls for all the kids!
Emma helped Luke open his presents!
MawMaw knew exactly what he needed! ;)
He got a few new outfits too!
When we got home Emma put
out cookies and milk for Santa!
...and then we had a little photo shoot!
Then we said our prayers and drifted off to sleep...
in hopes that St. Nick soon would be there!!
