A Sleepover & Shopping

Yesterday after school Ensleigh came home with Emma for a sleepover. Before we could leave school, though, they had to play teacher and show me their "teacher faces". We went to the game last night, they stayed up late, and then fell asleep fast once they slowed down. The next time they have requested hair, makeup, nails, and no boys. I love being mama to a little girl:)!

Today we went to Seth's 10th birthday party (where does the time go?!), and then we did a little shopping with Nana. The kids slept the entire way home, and then E decided she needed to go home with Nana. My guys and I are spending the evening eating pizza and wings and watching the Tide play (or something like that:/).

Emma Catherine, you are six years old today!

On this day 6 years ago, God loaned me a princess. She kept us up day and night for the first few months of her life, and she's had us going ever since. She is the baby who gave me the sometimes-taken-for-granted title of "Mama". She's the girl who has taught me more about love and patience and dolls than I could ever have thought of learning in the 24 years before I had her. She's the girl that I stand in awe of most days. Happy Birthday, Emma Catherine! I love you to the moon and back (but Jesus loves you the most)!

• Stats: You weigh about 50 pounds and are about 4 feet tall. You are a great eater, a great sleeper (finally, ha!), you get up on school mornings without a fight (Praise God!), and you fall asleep every single day on the way home from school (why, oh why, did they stop naps in Kindergarten?).

THE Virus

We rang in the 4AM hour with tears, fever, and vomiting. After getting a bath and stripping all the beds, she finally went back to sleep about 6:45 and slept until 10AM. She laid around and watched "The House With Too Many Kids" (aka "Full House";) most of the day. She seems better tonight, but please say a prayer that she stays that way. I don't want my poor baby sick on her birthday!!
