Today is another crazy-busy Saturday that started off at the park remembering a special girl who earned her wings a lot sooner than seems fair. This is the third year of Finishing with Faith but the first year my kiddos have run walked with me.
And let me just say that it pays to be really nice to your students, because you never know when you will need one of them to toteyour 30+ pound boy on a mile-long walk:). I taught the sweet boyyoung man below when I was pregnant with Emma, and he willalways hold a special place in my heart.
Luke loved Kara's dog:)
We left the park and headed to Addie Brooke's birthday
party, where Luke got filthy and had a blast...and E had
funpulling the kids around and being a mother hen!
We had a makeup game tonight, but after 1/2 inning the other team decided they didn't want to play in the rain (very light rain), so they forfeited.
This actually
worked out well for us, because we had already made plans to take Poppa Dale
and MawMaw out to eat for his birthday and Mother's Day. Afterwards, we went
back to their house for dessert and presents:).
Back
in December Poppa and Daddy went to Mrs. Shauna's to get some gift certificates
(my favorite gifts:), and saw her LHS pressbox/school print. She called
me in January and told me she thought I would like to know they were on
sale...so I made some phone calls and got a head start on a birthday/Father's
Day gift. I'd say it was a hit!
Tonight was E's end of the year program. I am so proud of her (andall of the kids).Mrs. Lolli and the other teachers put so much time into these babies, and it showed!
E & Mrs. Lolli
Before I start, let me say that E has spent the last month reciting
not only her part but everybody's parts (including Mrs. Lolli:).
At this point three of the girls from K2 were supposed to do their
rhyme but wouldn't go up to the microphone. E went and grabbed
each of them by the hand, led them to their spots, and then took
them back afterward. She is definitely a take charge kind of girl!
I wish I had taped the entire thing, but I wasn't prepared. I did get
several of the rhymes, including E's rhyme..."Little Miss Muffet".
Today we had dress rehearsal for this weekend's recital and a ballgame. Luckily, they were both in Wadley. MawMaw kept Luke for us, and when we got there to pick him up the kids had to play with their new favorite toys.
Look at that grin! That's the grin of a boy who would take these
kittens home and terrorizelove them with all he's got...only God is
funny like that and let him be born to a mama who despises cats;).
I guess he'll have to settle for visiting MawMaw more often:).
Maz went to the doctor Friday, and he decided to put her in the hospital to monitor her heart. We got up on Saturday and headed out (in monsoon-like rains) to visit her. E was weary of all the cords and didn't want to touch Maz. Luke...well he hopped right in the bed and snuggled up.
We finally got home and got ready to go to Josh's wedding. I tried to get Justin to agree to let the kids stay with Nana since the weather was so terrible, but he insisted they would be fine. I just hope nobody was taping the wedding, because if they were they are sure to have an introduction of every groomsman courtesy of Luke:).
When Justin and I were dating Josh was in high school. He was oursidekick. We spent many nights at my parents' kitchen table playing cards. Afterwe got married not much changed...he visitedus on a daily basis and ate a lot of meals on our couch (and I wouldn't have had it any other way). When we found out I was pregnant with E, he was the first to know. He's been like a kid brother to Justin his whole life and to me for the past 10 years. We love you, Josh, and wish you and DeAnna a life filled with happiness!
And the perk of being part of the family of the groom is
leftover rehearsal dinner and grooms cake for Sunday dinner!
You know the saying, "give credit where credit is due"? Well, I haven't blogged much about the hubby and his schooling (mainly because I haven't had time to blog in "real time" in I don't know when). Anyway, I have to give credit. He has worked so hard...not only did he work (even if he doesn't have a job;), take care of a family, AND go to school full time...he managed to make the Dean's List (4 As and 1 B). And I must admit that he had very little help from me this go round...other than typing his papers and helping him on one or two assignments he did everything himself. He has a tough year ahead, but this time next year I hope to have two graduates...Justin from college and E from Kindergarten!
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever. Psalm 107:1
I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. John 16:33
