Thirty Eve

On the eve of my twentieth birthday I was less than thrilled. I may or may not have even shed a few an unreasonable amount of tears. I was sad at the thoughts of leaving my teenage years behind. Why? I haven't the slightest clue. I guess I thought I'd miss the boy troubles, girl drama, and lovely skin that went along with high school?!

Fast forward ten years.

I'm not anxious about turning the big 3-0, but I can say that if my thirties are going to compete with my twenties they are going to have a lot of work to do.

Twenty things my twenties brought me that my thirties can't take away...

1. a fiance at 21
2. a husband at 22
3. a B.S. in Elementary Education at 22
4. my first job (as a 3rd Grade teacher at AES) at 23
6. my first pregnancy at 23
7. my first mortgage at 23
8. a daughter at 24
9. my second pregnancy at 26
10. my second job (as a 6th Grade teacher at LES) at 26
11. an M.S. in Elementary Education at 27
12. a son at 27
13. a transfer to 1st Grade at 28
14. seven wedding anniversaries
15. seven years' teaching experience
16. five classrooms in those seven years
17. a few a lot of gray hairs
18. a lot of tears
19. a lot of laughs
20. a lot of change (mostly for the better:)
