Spoon Fed

When I picked Luke up from daycare Friday afternoon I noticed he had taken all three bottles...plus the one I fed him before we got there. Then he took two more before the night was up (if you're counting you should be up to six by now;). He took six bottles on Saturday as well. On Sunday I decided to bump him up from 6oz. per feeding to 7oz., which seemed to help get him back to 4 hours in between feedings. So last night I decided it may be time to start spoon feeding him some cereal. He has been taking a tablespoon in his nighttime bottle for a while now, so I figured it would be safe to give him a little more and call it supper. I have a feeling when we see Dr. Ray in a few weeks we will be starting some baby foods as well. Here are a few pictures from the messy experience! :)

Look at those squinted eyes!
What a mess! :)
All cleaned up...and worn out!

There's No Such Thing as a Free Lunch

I have just enjoyed the last long weekend of the year. Those three days off last week cost us...two weather days and President's Day. Next week starts the 11 week stretch to Spring Break...and trust me, I am already counting down the days!

After church yesterday we met Maz for lunch at Partners.
Her friend, Denise, came from Atlanta to visit. We had
a good time, and the kids enjoyed their "Maz time". :)
We came home, and E took a 3 hour nap! She was one tired girl.
Luke had some tummy time...which he actually somewhat enjoyed.
His head is so strong, and he is very close to rolling over. My guess,
though, is that he will roll over from his back to tummy first.
Doesn't he look sweet enough to eat?!
Today has pretty much been a lazy day. We have played, napped,
and prepared to go back to work/daycare. I did do a little housework
and cooking...just so I could show Justin how nice it would be if I
stayed at home full-time! ;) E had dance and tumbling today,
so "Mama's Taxi" and "MawMaw's Taxi" made a few runs.

One year ago today...

...I found out I was going to be a mommy for the second time! I look around at my messy house, covered in all things baby and big girl, and I am overcome with emotion. It literally takes my breath away sometimes to think of all the joy my little ones have brought me. God is so good!

This weekend last year we went to Boone, NC on the
church ski trip. We did a little more tubing than skiing!
This year we are at home all tucked in as a family of four! :)

I Survived

I thought about titling this post "We Survived"...but who am I kidding? I knew he would be fine!! :) Luke's first day at daycare is officially over...and he was a trooper...and I only called to check on him once! Of course, he was fine!

My babies and me...after my morning meltdown! ;)
Emma & Luke...ready to start a new adventure. :)
I am so thankful they are able to be together!
He looks like such a little man! Two blinks of the eye and
I'll be taking his picture on his first day of kindergarten.
Where are the pause and rewind buttons to life? :(
Luke will have plenty of little mommies to take care of him! =)
Aaliyah, Faith & Mallie were excited I finally brought him to stay!
Here he is with his favorite little mommy! :)
When I picked them up this afternoon Mrs. Elizabeth
said he did great! Here he is as I type...he fell asleep
in E's bed while she put her PJs on! :) *Excuse the pink...
it comes with the territory when you have a big sister! ;)

'Twas the Night Before Daycare

Yep, tomorrow is the big day! I'm not really worried about him...I'm worried about me. Even though I've already gone back to work I have yet to work a full week. :) Luke has been able to stay at home with family on the days I have worked. Tomorrow makes it final...it's like the last step in re-joining the real world. Say a prayer for me tonight! I can't believe that 15 weeks have already passed since I gave birth to this sweet little guy! Here is one of my favorite pictures from that magical day.

E looks so little to me here...and Luke has grown a ton since then!
It's bittersweet looking back. I am so thankful they are healthy and
growing, but it makes me sad to think about how fast they grow!
I'm sure E will be "helping" Mrs. Elizabeth tomorrow
just like she's been "helping" me since 09.30.10.
You better say a prayer for Mrs. Elizabeth too. ;)

Happy Birthday Papa!

We tried to have a little "photo shoot" in honor of your birthday!
Which, of course, turned into this:
...which led to this:
We love you and hope your day is wonderful! :)

Iced In

Well...we didn't get much snow, but we did get a ton of ice! You'll be happy to know, though, that we did not lose power! :) So we have basically been iced in for the last few days. We got a call this afternoon, and school has been cancelled tomorrow as well. I sure have enjoyed these last few days at home...and it will definitely be hard to leave the kids at daycare on Thursday (especially since it will be Luke's first day)! We have been really lazy, but I have gotten a few things done around the house.

Notice that paci in his hand! :)
I love footed PJs!
We actually had a pretty heavy snow this
morning, so E and I went outside to check it out!
Check out the icicles on the playhouse!
This afternoon I made a big pot of dumplings, and we
had company...which was nice, since we haven't seen
anybody outside of these four walls in a few days.
Y.U.M.M.Y!
